Event Info - The Scenic Course

Race Day is Sunday, 4th August 2019

We have enjoyed the traditional course that passed by our iconic Bundaberg cane fields and finished at the Coral Sea for the first 7 events but in 2017 we made a Sea Change. Bundaberg Sugar Cane2Coral Fun Run participants now have even better views of our beautiful Coral Sea as they walk, jog or run along the new scenic course concluding at the traditional finish area at Neilson Park, Bargara.

There are 3 distances on offer: a half-marathon (21.1km), a 10km and a 4km, continuing to make it an event that is available to all ages and wide range of abilities.

The 21.1km and 10km will start at the Bundaberg Port Marina travel along the Burnett Heads Esplanade through the picturesque Mon Repos walking track and finish at Neilson Park, Bargara.  The 4km will start from Neilson Park travel along the Bargara Esplanade to the Basin and return to and finish at Neilson Park, Bargara.

Course Distances (orange/green) starts at the Bundaberg Port Marina and heads toward Bundaberg Port Road for 5 1/2 km then returns to the Port Marina (this will have covered 11km) then crosses bridge to Burnett Heads goes along the Esplanade through Mon Repos Park finishing at Neilson Park. 21.1km Start Time 6:45

10km (green) starts at the Bundaberg Port Marina crosses bridge to Burnett Heads goes along the Esplanade then through Mon Repos finishing at Neilson Park.  10km Start Time  7:00am

4km (purple) starts at Neilson Park goes to the Basin and returns to and finishes at Neilson Park. 4km Start Time 8:30am

The Bundaberg Sugar Cane2Coral started from a discussion, over a beer, between two local businessmen and has grown to become a much loved and anticipated annual event.

Entrants take part for many and varied reasons.  Some compete.  Some take advantage of an opportunity to get together with friends and walk.  Yet others use it to raise money for a cause that is close to their heart.

Bundaberg has largely flat terrain and so the course is either fast or relatively easy depending on the approach taken. All courses provide a beautiful view of the Coral Seal and finish at Neilson Park, Bargara
